A comedy about getting lost and finding love. Movie star Cord McCann and farm girl Bobby Champagne collide in Hollywood (Hollywood, Texas, that is!) and start a romance that’s as sweet, sexy and hilarious as it is unlikely.
SALLY MASON loves to love and loves writing about it! She grew up on a diet of romantic comedies and is happiest when she has a tear in her eye and a smile on her face.

I really wanted to like this book -- I like the premise (as described on the Amazon sales page), the title, even the cover art -- and when I sat down to read this I was in the perfect mood for a dishy, fast-paced romantic comedy. However, starting with the very first paragraph, I was completely thrown the by author's bizarre writing style. In fact, I had to go over the opening line five or six times just to make sense of it (and no, I don't have a reading problem). Sally Mason has adopted the strangest style of narration I have ever encountered. It's all in present tense, and sounds very much like the narration that might accompany some bad, celebrity-based reality TV show. The problem is that -- without a video track to go along with the narration -- the story is just about impossible to follow. Well, if not impossible, then too much effort for this reader. I can see that Mason is intelligent and more than capable of stringing words together into coherent sentences (and I bet she's a hoot in person), so I'm mystified by what seems like a deliberate decision to flaut writing conventions. All I can say is that an opening paragraph is like a writer's introduction; one should think twice before kicking the reader in the nuts right out of the gate.Product details

Gone Hollywood A Romantic Comedy edition by Sally Mason Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
This book was slightly more humorous than "Rent a Husband". I liked the characters more, especially the 2 main characters Roberta "Bobby" Champagne and Cord McCann. Some of the Hollywood, CA references are a hoot; the author appears to be poking fun at the silliness of that whole lifestyle. And again, I liked the ending.
What with her ex husband and his father, then she meets Cord and another slew of problems. Cheating, jealousy and you name it.
Hollywood CA meets Hollywood TX and sparks fly. Love blooms and confusion reigns in both Hollywood's are mired and muddled by a reporter.
Found it ok in the beginning but half way through seemed to be slow and boring. Ended up skipping pages and chapters to the end.
The book was just ok for me. Nothing memorable.
Sally Mason sure can spin a yarn! A down home, root tootin, feel good tale! You’ll fall for all these characters no matter which Hollywood they happen to be in- Texas or California!
This author is just plain fun to read. She comes up with some pretty crazy characters which are quite believable. If you want to chuckle through a romance book, read this book.
